Reason 1,001 why we love policing in a small community.
This morning we had the pleasure of teaming up with Lucien Steinkuehler to save a turtle. Lucien was in the river when he observed a soft shell turtle with a fishing hook sticking out of its mouth. Lucien was able to catch the turtle and flag down an HSPD officer for assistance.
Thankfully the hook wasn’t deep and was easily removed by the officer. This young mans quick thinking probably saved the turtles life.
Way to go Lucien.
