SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) One in 9 people in South Dakota struggle to find their next meal, and legendary band Metallica is helping bring that number down.
While in Sioux Falls for their show at the Denny Sanford Premier Center Tuesday night, band members presented Feeding South Dakota with a check for $10,000.
The donation is possible because of Metallica’s “All Within My Hands Foundation,” which aims to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band for years, as well as encourage participation from fans and friends.
Feeding South Dakota says the donation will help provide 30,000 meals to people who are food insecure in South Dakota.
