October 4-5, 11-12, and 18-19: Paranormal Investigations of the Adams House – Join us for paranormal investigations with Deadwood History, Inc. and Black Hills Paranormal Investigations (BHPI) in October with exclusive investigations at one of Deadwood’s most haunted sites. Participants will search for paranormal activity in the Historic Adams House with the BHPI team using parascopes, para-lanterns, the Tempest, Rem-Pod, Onvoy ghost box, Pharaoh Box, Flux 2, Ovilus, digital audio recorders, laser grids, divining rods, K2’s, and EMF meters. Investigations are offered at 6:00, 7:30, 9:00, and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 and limited to 20 people per investigation. You must be at least 12 years old to participate. Ages 12 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Psychic readings with Dani Jo Butler, owner of Sacred Soul LLC, will be available following each investigation in the gentlemen’s smoking room for $25 per person. October 17: Preservation Thursday: Mileposts on the Mickelson Trail – Join Rick Mills, renowned author, photographer, and curator of the South Dakota State Railroad Museum, for an engaging presentation that takes you on a captivating journey along the historic Burlington Railroad’s High Line, now known as the George S. Mickelson Trail. Focusing on the northern stretch from Hill City to Deadwood, Mills will share insights from his upcoming book Mileposts on the Mickelson – The Burlington’s High Line. November 7: Two Visions of Success: Seth Bullock and J.K.P. Miller in Early Deadwood: Examine the lives of Seth Bullock and James K. P. Miller, two of Deadwood’s leading citizens, with author and historian Dr. David Wolff. Both men arrived with the gold rush, ran businesses next to each other, and worked to turn the gold camp into a prosperous community. Despite having many shared experiences, they had different visions of what success meant for themselves and for Deadwood. Dr. Wolff will discuss their motivations and actions, while examining what they accomplished and how they interacted with one another. November 29-December 1, December 6-8, 13-15, and 20-22: Christmas Tours of the Historic Adams House – Step into the holiday magic at the Adams House, beautifully decorated for the Christmas season! November 30: Deadwood Cowboy Christmas – Celebrate the holiday season with a festive evening at the Days of ’76 Museum!
