ONCE UPON A TIME!

Once upon a time there were four people. Their names were Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody.

Whenever there was an important job to be done, Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

When Nobody did it, Everybody got angry because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought that Somebody would do it, but Nobody realized that Nobody would do it.

So consequently Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have.

PONDER THIS

“Don’t despair. Take heart. People are awake. They are conscious. They are energized. They are thinking about their civic duties. Some are even furious, but believe me, that can be a good thing.

“I know there are many furious, frustrated people out there, but let’s not forget that our democracy was founded by such people. And our democracy will be sustained by those who make it their mission to step up and make sure that our divisive present is reshaped into a united future.

“That will be up to all of us. That’s what our civic duty is all about.”

— Maria Shriver in her “Sunday Paper”

GETTING EVEN!

A man had six children. Because he was very proud of this achievement, he started calling his wife “Mother of Six” despite her objections. One night they went to a party. When the man was ready to go home, he shouted to his wife across the room, “Shall we go home, Mother of Six?”

His wife, irritated by her husband’s lack of discretion, shouted back, “Any time you’re ready, Father of Four!”
