Thunderous Good Time – Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup and Arts Festival

Annual Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup – September 27-29, 2018

The rumble starts underfoot as the first of the 1,300 buffalo crest the hill. Before long, the mighty animals are stampeding alongside cowboys, cowgirls, and Park personnel as they all attempt to herd the animals toward the Buffalo Corrals. Watch in awe from one of two designated viewing areas as the thundering beasts pass within a few hundred feet of you.

Enjoy three days of continuous entertainment along with numerous arts and crafts booths near the State Game Lodge on Hwy 16A. Visit with artisans and crafters, hear cowboy poets spin tall tales, share the beauty of Native American dancers, and have a foot stompin’ good time with some of the area’s top musicians. Be on the lookout for trick shooters or kick up your heels with cloggers and square dancers. If you build up an appetite, you’ll find plenty of tasty vittles right there on site.

Join the herd – bring your family and friends to this three-day celebration of Western and Native American culture. Visit for more details on this thunderous good time.
