About the Faulkton Area Arts Council

The Faulkton Area Arts Council was founded in 1975 and has been dedicated to bringing the arts in all its forms to the Faulkton area for over 40 years. It sponsors about 7 events annually. The Faulkton School has benefited greatly with at least two artists in residencies during the school sponsored by the arts council. The annual Arts and Crafts Festival on the opening day of pheasant season in October draws vendors and a huge crowd from all over the region. The Hats Off to the Artists art show in the spring gives local and area artists the opportunity to display their art in all mediums. A murder mystery dinner theater is produced in the spring on a biennial basis with all local talent and provides two evenings of entertainment for the community. Local children look forward to a visit every spring from the Dakota Players and a one-week residency when they put together a full musical production for the public to see. The Faulkton Area Arts Council is always looking for new avenues to explore and believes that the arts is a necessary component to enrich everyone’s life.
